Enroll at Bridlewood Academy

Join us!

Bridlewood Academy is a FREE public charter school in Camden, South Carolina, currently serving students in 5K through 6th grade, with plans to expand through 8th grade.

As a public charter school, there are no attendance zones, no entrance exams, and no screenings—any South Carolina student is welcome to apply. All students must be SC residents, and residency verification is required during enrollment.

Important Info:

  • To be eligible for 5K in the 2026-2027 school year, students must be five years old on or before Sept. 1, 2026.

  • Parents are required to provide all transportation.

  • Our lottery for 2026-2027 is currently closed. You are welcome to complete an application, and if a spot opens during the school year, we will contact you.

HOW TO APPLY

Here's how the application process works for Bridlewood Academy:

  • Create a Powerschool Enrollment account

Use the button below to set up a free PowerSchool Enrollment account for Bridlewood Academy. This account is where you'll complete your application and, later, manage your child's enrollment information. You'll just need a valid email address and a few minutes to get started.

  • Add your child and select grade level

Once your account is created, add your child's information and select the grade level they'll be entering for the 2026–2027 school year. If you're enrolling more than one child, you can add each of them under the same account.

  • Review and submit your application

Double-check that everything is accurate, then submit your application. Submitting officially enters your child into the lottery—there's no advantage to applying early, since every on-time application has an equal chance, but completing this step ensures your child is included.

  • Watch for your notification

After the lottery, PowerSchool will notify you by email or text letting you know whether your child has been offered a spot or placed on the waitlist. Be sure to keep an eye on your inbox (and check spam, just in case) so you don't miss an important update.

  • Stay hopeful if you're waitlisted

A waitlist spot is far from a "no." As a charter school, Bridlewood Academy continues to admit students as space becomes available, and waitlisted families typically see movement throughout the year. If a spot opens for your child, we'll reach out right away, so there's nothing more you need to do but stay tuned.

About The Lottery

We are required by law to use a lottery system to ensure a fair and equitable admissions process. This approach gives every applicant an equal chance of securing a spot when the number of applications exceeds available seats. The lottery is conducted using a fully transparent and randomized system, aligning with the South Carolina Charter Schools Act, so every family can trust the integrity of the process.

Per SC regulations, the follow classes of applicants are mandated to receive priority status in the Bridlewood Lottery:

  • Applications of Current Bridlewood Students

  • Children of Current Bridlewood Staff/Board Members

We're in! What next?

  • If your child is awarded a spot at Bridlewood, you will be notified by email.
  • Acceptance emails must be responded to within 7 days.
  • Failure to respond to an acceptance email within 7 days will result in forfeiture of your spot.

Parent Disclaimers

  • Enrollment at Bridlewood Academy is contingent upon seat availability in the appropriate grade/class placement. For students requiring specialized class settings, admission is dependent on an available seat in that specific placement, even if general grade-level seats are open.

  • Providing false or inaccurate information during registration or enrollment—whether intentional or accidental—will result in your child’s application being voided and any offer of admission being withdrawn. Applications found to contain false information will be moved to the bottom of the waitlist. This includes unintentional errors, such as enrolling a student in the incorrect grade level.

Bridlewood Academy is authorized by the Charter Institute at Erskine. We will not discriminate against any student based on ethnicity, national origin, gender, disability, intellectual ability, measures of achievement or aptitude, race, creed, religion or ancestry, or any other grounds that would be unlawful if done by a school.
